A Place For Study: Reading Room of the Future
Het Studio Programma heeft 3 programmalijnen: Reading Room of the future, (Building) an Urban Union en a Station for Resources. De programmering speelt in op actuele vraagstukken die leven in de Afrikaanderwijk en de omliggende wijken, zoals gezondheid en welzijn, gentrificatie, niet-institutionele kennis, inclusie en participatie, vertrouwen en gemeenschapszin, klimaatbestendigheid, ecologische duurzaamheid en verantwoordelijkheid ten opzichte van de natuurlijke omgeving. De locaties liggen op loopafstand van elkaar: het Grondstoffenstation, de Social Practice Library en de Cultuur&Campus Putselaan zelf (vanaf september 2025).
In alle activiteiten staat het leren en het integreren van lokale kennis centraal: het uitwisselen en delen van kennis vormt de basis. De leden van de coöperatie, experts, studenten en bewoners gaan met elkaar in gesprek en aan het werk. We werken in het Studio Programma expliciet samen met het netwerk van mensen en collectieven uit de buurt en verbinden hen met de andere partners die betrokken zijn bij de Cultuur&Campus Putselaan en hun doelgroepen.

READING ROOM OF THE FUTURE #01: staining the archive queer

This is an invitation to explore the intimacy within knowledge often passed between bodies, within recipes, glances, moments of care. It’s about archiving what’s always been here, even if it hasn’t always been seen.
We'll share food, scattered stories, traces of queer knowledges that often go unrecognized, loosely practicing Jack Halberstam's scavenger methodology to peer into queer archiving approaches. This approach refuses neat categories, bringing together data, memory, and lived experience. It makes space for overlooked stories to sit beside the official archive, letting counter knowledges speak.
We’ll open a dialogue with the archive, attempting to relate to it rather than extract from it. Hosted within the Social Practice Library, we’ll engage in gentle acts of communication facilitated by Chaeyoung Kim with the archive: listening, responding, and offering something in return. We’ll play with the idea of staining the existing archive queer, letting our stories, gestures, and crumbs leave their mark.
Expect playful activities, re-thinking, and food cooked up by Masha Zotova.

In the programme, we focus on learning together — grounded in the knowledge already present in the neighbourhood. Through conversations, workshops, and hands-on collaborations, members of the cooperative, local experts, students, and residents come together to explore new forms of living, working, and taking care of one another.
We warmly welcome you to take part. The Studio Programme is rooted in the network of people and collectives in the Afrikaanderwijk and builds new connections with partners of Cultuur & Campus Putselaan.
