Het Studio Programma heeft 3 programmalijnen: Reading Room of the future, (Building) an Urban Union en a Station for Resources. De programmering speelt in op actuele vraagstukken die leven in de Afrikaanderwijk en de omliggende wijken, zoals gezondheid en welzijn, gentrificatie, niet-institutionele kennis, inclusie en participatie, vertrouwen en gemeenschapszin, klimaatbestendigheid, ecologische duurzaamheid en verantwoordelijkheid ten opzichte van de natuurlijke omgeving. De locaties liggen op loopafstand van elkaar: het Grondstoffenstation, de Social Practice Library en de Cultuur&Campus Putselaan zelf (vanaf september 2025).
In alle activiteiten staat het leren en het integreren van lokale kennis centraal: het uitwisselen en delen van kennis vormt de basis. De leden van de coöperatie, experts, studenten en bewoners gaan met elkaar in gesprek en aan het werk. We werken in het Studio Programma expliciet samen met het netwerk van mensen en collectieven uit de buurt en verbinden hen met de andere partners die betrokken zijn bij de Cultuur&Campus Putselaan en hun doelgroepen.

Living Breathing Spaces invite you to the place where music & poetry across multiple backgrounds and genres meet and resonate through the space of Cultuur&Campus Putselaan, a recently renovated building intended as a space for cultural dialogue, community encounter and shared learning, a place that holds old memories and through Living Breathing Spaces opens up for the first time to the public, thus beginning to create new encounters and new memories.
This event invites you to reflect on naturally emerging questions: What kind of space do we want to create as artists and human beings living during this time in this world, meeting in the city of Rotterdam? What kind of space can hold both our imagination as artists and as human beings transformed into reality? What kind of places do we want our voices, our art and our experiences and newly created memories to be embodied within?
During this afternoon we will encounter music and poetry by multiple Rotterdam-based musicians and poets, each of them bringing their distinctive voice and creativity into Living Breathing Spaces.
We will meet the music performed by Lucas Bernardo da Silva, sharing the intimacy and the depth of solo violin music; we will encounter the words of Mustapha Eaisaouiyen, embodying the poetry deeply rooted in the lived stories and culture of the local community; we will be embraced by the music-created-in-the-moment by Lucija Gregov & Bernat Boronat, exploring and opening up the space through their cello & bass clarinet immersive conversations; we will be invited into the music world of Denk neni, combining hiphop and poetry into one lived expression of resistance and love.
We will be welcomed by Janneke Absil & Kim Bouvy, speaking from the experience of the many created local initiatives and collective projects; and we will be guided through the spaces by Dorota Márföldi-Matejová, living her imagination and dreams through her poems and songs performed on various flutes.

This event is part of the Studio Programme Collective Learning for a Shared and Just City, curated by the COOP for Cultuur&Campus Putselaan.
Resurgent Cities confronts the global crisis of neoliberal urban development where displacement, gentrification, and speculative markets threaten communities. This event, anchored by renowned geographer David Harvey, whose work has fueled decades of struggles for the Right to the City, brings together groundbreaking projects of grassroot resistance and radical imagination from across the globe.
Community organizers, neighborhood activists, city administrators, and preservation and housing advocates from Quito, Mexico City, and Cairo will share hyper-local tactics of defiance and repair from tenant-led battles for housing justice in Mexico City and grassroots cooperative infrastructures in Quito, to reimagining neighborhoods in Cairo via a powerful combination of cultural preservation and rebuilding of infrastructures. They prove that another urban future is not only necessary, but already in motion.
Together, these presentations amplify a transnational call: cities must be reclaimed and shaped by those who inhabit them. Join us as we chart collective strategies for self-determination in our cities—from policy to pavement—by forging cooperative economies, citizen-led governance, and social and cultural infrastructures rooted in justice.
