Cinema Colombiano: Empanada Stories

The team of Cinema Colombiano brings empanadas, films and music to het Gemaal op Zuid

A Colombian Saturday evening on the 30th of November, dedicated to stories from the South American country. We start with a workshop during which you learn how to make your own empanadas in a typical Colombian way! The team of Cinema Colombiano tells you why this snack is so important for them and Colombian culture. After that, Ashé will do a live performance, bringing overseas stories to Rotterdam, followed by a Q&A. We close down with the film Fósforos Mojados, which takes place in the city of Cali. This is the hometown of Johana Molina, who is part of Cinema Colombiano, and she will talk about growing up in the city during an introduction to the film.

The evening at Het Gemaal op Zuid will be dedicated to various aspects of Colombian culture, bringing film, music, food and people together.

The doors open at 16:30. If you can't make it to the workshop, come by at 19:00 for the performance followed by the film.
